On a crisp fall morning volunteers led by Chief of Staff, Ramon Gomez of Supervisor Hernandez’s office met in the parking lot area leading to the Levee on Salsipuedes Creek. We met with the owners of the fruit stand there to request that they include trash cans and Pitch In signs to deter littering.

A dozen volunteers from Watsonville Works, Corralitos Women’s Club, Pajaro Valley Fire, Speaker Riva’s office, Pitch In Santa Cruz and the Pajaro Regional Flood Management Agency came together as community members to help clean up the levee and surrounding areas before the winter rains.
