May 9th All-Santa Cruz County Sign Up
On March 26th volunteers and City of Watsonville Staff joined with Pitch In and Supervisor Hernandez’s office to do a cleanup at Watsonville Slough. Located near the Food Bank, the Recycling Center and Industrial Businesses, this area if frequently impacted with litter, large dumped items and numerous cigarette butts.
It is spring! The Watsonville Slough as with other water ways in south county are home to numerous creatures, and at this time of year a plethora of bird life. Birds are building their nests, raising their young and it is important to not have them negatively impacted by thoughtless human waste. The youngest volunteers looked for cigarette butts amongst the grass with tiny pickers. Everyone has a responsibility to not litter and to pick up trash in our community. Please join the Pitch In Initiative to end litter and illegal dumping.
